This simple menu bar app was written entirely in SwiftUI and prevents the Mac from both sleep and screensaver using IOKit
.
A similar app I used recently decided to go behind a paywall. The challenge was accepted and using my Hacking with macOS book, the Apple Developer Documentation and ChatGPT (😏) I managed to hammer out Black Eye in an evening.
The project is completely open and released under the MIT license.
Happy hacking!
This site has gone through many changes. The original idea was to use it as a blog, but I have eclectic tastes and my own opinions that I don’t want bleeding into what is more of a landing area to get in touch or glance at what I’m up to.
Using my name feels like I’m trying to create a brand and I’m definitely not a brand.
Therefore, I am deciding to keep this space mostly static and use the blog function to post occasional updates of music or other projects (both personal and professional) I’ve finished and am ready to share. I’m also retaining the reading log and “now” section.
Julian and I have put together a brand new Blue Blue Youth track titled “Not The Gomorrah I Was Expecting” for issue #2 of the “Small Sounds Press” zine from Velvet Blue Music.
Order here.
Issue 2 is packed w/ great stuff. Feature interview w/ Ronnie Martin. Interviews with TW Walsh and Adam Neubauer. A story about Richard Swift by Matt Hopper, and extended classic record reviews from Ben Heywood, Ed Harbour, Jamey Bozeman, and Gileah Taylor. + other stuff. The sampler cd that comes with it contains a bunch of unreleased / exclusive tracks.
